Research and Development Specialist
These are the tasks we trust in you:
Conduct experiments, generate, analyze and prepare data to support projects and new products
Instruct and train new personnel
Oversee and coordinate projects and project phases
Ensure proper documentation of scientific results and safe storage in the project management database
Manage and maintain the inventory, equipment and projects in the Laboratory
Contribute to scientific publications and research proposals
Participate actively at scientific congresses
Purifying antibodies and proteins using classical chromatographic techniques, i.e., ion exchange, gel filtration, hydrophobic interaction, affinity, Protein A/G, etc. Experience using AKTA chromatography systems preferable.
Performs ELISA assays, SDS, PAGE, and Western blot analysis.
Ensures good microbiological laboratory practices including sterile technique.
Plans and executes experimental protocols related to diagnostic kit development and validation for the analysis of pathogenic bacteria, GMO’s and other targets in food-related matrices.
Maintains laboratory notebooks and records.
Reports and presents experimental findings in departmental meetings.
Performs industrial scale purifications of antibodies and proteins.
Responsible for diagnostic test kit development, validation and commercialization.
Familiarity with immunoassays and molecular diagnostic techniques

Master or Bachelor in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related studies
Organized and pays attention to details.

Minimum 3 years lab experience
Experience in food safety industry
The scope of the position is to provide critical support in the protein purification group within R&D. This will involve new antigen discovery and purification as well as antibody development.
